Almora: Prakash Goswami of Kwar village in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand has built a road through a hill to connect his village to the main road.
He has built this 500 meter road with the help of hammer and chisel in 9 months.

He said, “The road I have built is ready for use. However, there is more to be done. Now, 4 wheelers can travel on this road. This will benefit 300 people. Neither the government nor the villagers helped to build this road. Instead, they mocked me.”
Goswami, who works as a laborer, earns Rs.600 a day. It is noted that before going to work, he has been engaged in road construction work from 5 am to 9 am.

There are about 84 villages in Uttarakhand that do not have such road facilities. Some villagers walk 10 km to reach the main road. Have to walk up to. Meanwhile, the people of Kanda area of Bageshwar district have been demanding the government for the last 20 years to construct the road. But the government did not notice. After that, 10 women joined together to build the road.
