Athens: 36 passengers were killed in a head-on collision between a passenger train and a freight train in Greece. Also, 85 passengers were seriously injured. It is said to be the worst accident in the country.

A train with 350 passengers was traveling from Athens to Thessaloniki in Greece on Tuesday night. A freight train has also arrived on the same track. In the blink of an eye, the two trains collided with each other.

Near the city of Larissa: Due to this the railway coaches were derailed and scattered. Due to the collision at high speed, the train coaches suddenly caught fire. The accident happened near the city of Larissa.

While 350 people were traveling in the passenger train, 36 people died. 85 people were injured. 3 boxes are completely burnt. Also, many boxes are broken into hundreds of pieces.

The fire department and the police reached the spot after learning about the accident. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital.

There is a terrible sound when the trains collide. Due to this, the passengers and the surrounding area were shocked. “It was like an earthquake. We thought no one would survive. As it was night time, the atmosphere was very frightening,” said a passenger who survived the accident.

“There was fire everywhere. Our bodies are also on fire. In the midst of this, we jumped out of the box to avoid the debris,” said another passenger. The country’s government has said that an intensive investigation has been carried out into the cause of the accident.
