Chennai: "It is against the Representation of the People Act and the Constitution to deny voting rights to civilians who have been residing within the cantonment for many years on the grounds of living on military land" State Secretary of the Communist Party of India Mutharasan said.

In his statement in this regard, it has been announced that the Chennai Cantonment Board election will be held on April 30. It is shocking that about 15,000 voters have been removed from the voters list published for this purpose.
