Chennai: The Meteorological Department has said that rain is likely to occur at one or two places in Tamil Nadu for the next 4 days.
In this regard, a press release issued by the Director of Chennai Meteorological Research Centre, P. Senthamaraikannan:
There has been a change in the speed of the westerly wind blowing towards Tamil Nadu. Due to this, On 6th (today), light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at some places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts are likely to receive heavy rain at a few places. On the coming 7th, 8th and 9th, moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry regions.
The sky will be cloudy in Chennai. Some parts of the city may witness light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Aug. In the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on 5th (yesterday), maximum rainfall was 20 cm at Avalanchi in Nilgiri district, 19 cm at Chinnakallar in Coimbatore district, 18 cm at Dewala in Nilgiri district, and 15 cm in central district. , 14 cm at the top. Rain is reported.
Warning to fishermen
Aug. 50 to 60 kmph in Gulf of Mannar areas on 6th (today). Strong wind may blow at speed. 40 to 50 kmph in coastal areas of Middle East Arabian Sea, North Karnataka. Strong wind may blow at speed. Therefore, fishermen are advised not to go to these areas.
