Complete blockade in Cuddalore district – 7000 policemen mobilized for security

Cuddalore: In the Cuddalore district today, while the party has called for a complete blockade protest, 7 thousand policemen have been mobilized in the district and engaged in security work.

The party had called for a complete blockade today (March 11) against the NLC company’s land acquisition for mining expansion. Following this, more than 7000 policemen have been mobilized in the entire district including Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Chetiyathoppu, Vadalur, Neyveli, Vridthachalam, Kattumannarkoil, Parangipettai, Panruti, Kurinchippadi and have been engaged in security work.

Under the leadership of IG Kannan, DIGs Villupuram Pandyan, Kanchipuram Pagalavan and 10 SPs have camped in Cuddalore district and are engaged in security work. Government and private buses are running as usual in the district. Due to this, the normal life of the public is not affected. Shops were open in Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Vadalur, Kattumannarkovil areas.

In Kurunchipadi, shops were closed in the morning and opened in the afternoon. Shops were closed in the morning in Vridthachalam and all the shops opened in the afternoon. Shops are closed in Neyveli Mandharakuppam. Police arrested 30 Bamakavins who blocked shops in Kurinchipadi.

Half shops have opened in Chetiathoppu area. Rest of the shops are closed. 100 people were arrested under the leadership of Bamaka District Secretary Chan Muthukrishnan who participated in the demonstration in Cuddalore. Police are patrolling the entire district.
