A school boy delivering food, holding a packet of chocolates in his right hand and a mobile phone in his left hand. A conversation in Hindi takes place between a schoolboy and a food orderer. In it he says that since his father met with an accident, he is doing his job and he goes to school during the day and works as a food delivery boy from 6 pm to 11 pm. The boy also says that he goes on a bicycle to deliver food.
Rahul Mittal posted the 30-second video on his Twitter page and wrote, ‘This 7-year-old boy goes to school in the morning and works as a food delivery boy at Zomoto from 6 in the evening because his father is injured. We applaud this boy’s inspiration and help his father get well soon.’
More than 32,000 people had read this message posted by Rahul Mittal on August 1. While many applauded the boy’s efforts, some condemned the tragic incident.
Sapna Rawat said, “I hope his father recovers soon and returns to work so that the boy can concentrate on his studies.”
Sumit Patra said, “May God bless the boy’s father and this boy for a speedy recovery.”
Shah Fazil said, “Thank you for your wonderful gift and help. It’s a great day for the boy,” he said.
Wittgenstein said, “Don’t turn this sad story into a self-fulfilling story. Zomoto can help this boy financially and do it as an advertisement. But they will not make any change in the policy decision,” he said.
A person with a motherly hand says, “Put your emotions aside and look. Zomoto has violated the rules. A boy cannot ride a bike. He said that he cannot work because of that.
Zomoto Corporation has also backed this record. In a separate message, Rahul Mittal has been asked to share information about the boy’s father.
Zomoto is the answer
A Zomoto spokesperson said in a statement, “Thank you to the social media users who brought this news to our attention. Here the rules are violated at various levels like child labor and misrepresentation. Considering the family’s situation, we made the family understand the situation without taking any drastic action.
We are helping the 14-year-old boy in the video with his studies through the Zomoto Future Foundation. As the accident took place while he was not on duty, although we cannot provide him with accident assistance for employees, our team will provide him with possible assistance on humanitarian grounds,” he said.
