In an interview to a private news agency, Mandeep’s father said, “We hoped that this violence would end one day. We intervened in their problem once and lodged a complaint with the police station in New York. We also showed police the video footage of Mandeep being beaten by her husband. But my daughter asked me to withdraw the case after my daughter’s husband apologized. Due to this we also withdrew the case. “My daughter was very worried about the future of her children.”
