Chennai: Chief Minister M.K.Stalin has said that DMK’s victory and government’s achievements will be a chance to go to Karunanidhi’s resting place in a rally and pay tribute to him on his memorial day this year.
Former Chief Minister Karunanidhi’s 4th death anniversary is being observed on the 7th. In this regard, the Chief Minister has said in a letter written to the party workers yesterday:
Peace rally
Former Chief Minister Karunanidhi, who has the power to lead the movement and properly implement the plans for the development of Tamil Nadu. 7th is the 4th anniversary. He is full of our memories every moment. He is the great driving force of our government. After Anna’s death, it was Karunanidhi’s custom to lead a peace rally with the participation of volunteers every year on his memorial day, February 3. He maintained this for half a century.
To honor the memory of Karunanidhi who traveled the Anna Way, a peace rally was held under my leadership on his first anniversary. In the next 2 years, there was no chance to hold a peace rally due to Corona.
We have put DMK in power with the love and support of the people by working together in the field of elections.
India is a pioneer state
We have made Tamil Nadu, which has been in the dark for 10 years, rise up as a pioneer state in India in various fields. An opportunity to rally and pay tribute to Karunanidhi at his resting place is on his memorial day this year.
On behalf of DMK, we erected a statue of Karunanidhi near the Anna statue at the gate of Anna Vidhalaya. On behalf of the Tamil Nadu government, we have erected a lifelike statue in the heart of Chennai.
Starting from this statue located in the Omanturar complex, it goes up to Karunanidhi’s resting place. A peace rally will be held on the 7th. Chennai district secretaries have released a statement that DMK leaders and volunteers including general secretary, treasurer and principal secretary will participate in the rally led by me.
Lifelike statues of Karunanidhi have been erected not only in the capital Chennai, but all over Tamil Nadu. Party members can garland the Karunanidhi statue in those towns and take out a peace procession. Henceforth, in the towns where the statue will be erected, garlands and flowers can be offered to Karunanidhi’s picture at the DMK office.
Fame cannot be hidden
The activities of the volunteers should be such as to testify to the majesty of the regime. Let the commemorative events take place in such a way as to realize that no matter what the enemies of Tamilness and their direct and indirect costers shout, Karunanidhi’s fame cannot be hidden at all. This was stated by the Chief Minister.
