Lok-Adalat held across the state: 3,578 pending cases resolved

Chennai: 3,578 pending cases were resolved in the National Lok-Adalam across the state yesterday and compensation of Rs.145.33 crore was ordered.

The National Lok-Adalat for specific pending cases across Tamil Nadu was held yesterday as per the instructions of the Madras High Court Chief Justice T. Raja. For this purpose, a total of 6 sessions were set up in Madras High Court headed by Justices S. Sounder, KG Thilakavathy, R. Kalamati and in the Madurai Branch of the High Court by Justices S. Srimati, L. Victoria Gowri and KK Ramakrishnan.

Similarly, a total of 133 sessions were set up in courts across the state. Out of this, a total of 3,578 pending cases have been settled and compensation of Rs.145.33 crore has been ordered. The arrangements for this were made by the member secretary of the State Legal Affairs Commission and District Judge A. Naseer Ahmed, and the High Court Legal Affairs Commission Secretary and District Judge K. Sudhaullatta.
