Like a collective prayer…
When MS Subbulakshmi sings, she makes fans and devotees connect with her. His concerts are structured like a collective prayer. For this M.S. RK Sriramkumar who accompanied him on the violin very subtly shared what kind of effort he would take.
Bhakti and Bhava combined in MS Subbulakshmi’s Sangeet. Those who listened to his music were mesmerized and entered into a meditative state of union with God. Sriram Kumar explained with examples the dedication to music, daily practice, pronunciation cleanliness, sruthi cleanliness, the effort to sing with appropriate experts and know the meaning of any language. After his explanation, MS. Amrita Murali sang that particular song.
Keeping all the suspense for the fans, M.S. He won’t sing. He will tell the fans what raga it is in the very first swarap prayogam born from him. When Sri Ramkumar shared with the fans many techniques such as MS’s alapan, Avarswaram singing, the elegance of Niraval singing, the accuracy of timing, and immediately Amrita explained the technique directly, it gave me the experience of watching MS’s concert.
M.S. Amrita entertained the fans by singing popular songs like Viriponi Varnam and Meera Bhajan. Arun Prakash’s Mridhangam, Anirudh Adreya’s Kanjira and N. Guruprasad’s Kadam formed a strong musical alliance for him.
