In response to this, Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, Prime Minister’s Office, said: Assessing the exact size of the global space economy is a complex and debatable matter.
As of 2019 estimates, the global space economy is worth USD 360 billion, of which India’s share is approximately 2 percent. India has made significant progress in space technology and its applications.
Space assets include Earth observation, satellite communications, meteorology, space science and navigation led by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO); ground infrastructure, and national requirements; It has acquired indigenous capabilities in all domains such as applications of space technology to address the common needs of man and society.
There is no delay in getting approvals for projects related to space technology development. This was stated by the minister in his reply.
