Chennai: The Department of Charities has invited the organizations conducting Thirkuda Nannieratu Festival according to the Tamil Agama system to express their views on conducting Kudamuzku in Tamil in temples.
In this regard, the Hindu Religious Charities Department Commissioner J. Kumaragurubaran has said in a press release:

As per Madurai branch order of Madras High Court, an order was issued regarding Kudamuzku in Tamil in temples. Subsequently, a meeting was held at the office of the Commissioner of Charity Department on the 18th of last month with the participation of Kunrakkudi Ponnambala Adikalar, Perursanthalinga Marudachala Adikalar, Siravai Ramananda Kumaragurupara Swami, Senthamil Velvisathuri Master Sakthivel Muruganar and Sugisivam.
In that meeting, it was decided to seek comments from the organizations conducting Thirukuda Nanneeratu by reciting mantras in Tamil.
Therefore, in order to conduct Kudamuzku not only in Sanskrit but also in Tamil in the temples under the control of the Hindu Religious Charitable Department, the organizations conducting Thirkukuda Nanniratu festival by reciting the Thirumpi (Vegetarian temples) and Prabandha (Vaishnava temples) mantras according to the Tamil Agama system can give comments.
I request those organizations to send their comments along with explanations of processes and evidence of events conducted so far to ‘Commissioner, Department of Hindu Religious Charities, Uttamar Gandhisalai, Nungambakkam, Chennai’.
