Passenger-freight train head-on collision in Greece: 32 dead

Athens: 32 people were killed when a passenger train collided with a freight train in Greece. More than 80 people were injured. 3 boxes were burnt and destroyed in this accident.

The accident took place in Thessaly province of Greece. A person who survived the accident said, “A passenger train was coming from Greece’s capital Athens to Thessaloniki. A cargo train was going from Thessaloniki to Larissa city in the opposite direction. Unexpectedly, these trains also collided head-on at midnight. 32 people were killed. When the accident occurred, the noise was like an earthquake.” asked. We didn’t think we would survive.”

Provincial Governor Agorastos said, “350 people were traveling in the train. 32 people were killed in the accident. More than 80 people were injured. 250 passengers were rescued safely. The two trains collided and there was a huge damage. So the rescue work is going on with great difficulty. The army has been involved in the rescue work.”
