Anbuchezhiyan, a famous film financier of the Tamil film industry, runs a film company named Gopuram Films. He was accused of adding more property than his income. Following this, the Income Tax Department had raided Anbuchezhiyan’s house and office in connection with the 2020 Vijay-starrer Bigil. It is said that an unaccounted amount of Rs 20 crore was seized during the raid conducted by the Income Tax officials.
In this situation, the Income Tax Department officials again raided cinema financier Anbuchezhiyan’s house in Kamaraj Nagar, Madurai, and his theater at many places from last 2nd. Subsequently, Income Tax officials also raided the offices of producers, Kalaipuli Thanu, SR Prabhu, Gnanavelraja etc.
After that, in a statement issued by the Income Tax Department officials, “The screen industry has been found to have hidden an income of Rs 200 crore so far. 26 crore cash and 3 crore worth of jewelery have been seized from the house of cinema financier Anbuchezhiyan. Overall, Anbuchezhiyan, Gnanavel Raja, SR Prabhu, Kalaipalli, S Thanu and others An unaccounted amount of Rs 200 crore has been seized in 40 places such as the houses and offices of film stars.
