Speaking to the press, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, “US President Joe Biden will not be able to participate in this meeting. The Quad conference will not take place without him. Therefore, the meeting is cancelled. On the contrary, the Quad leaders will consult separately between the G7 conference to be held in Japan.” . At the same time, he also said that the bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was to be held in Australia next week, may take place.
US President Joe Biden has abruptly postponed his trip to Australia due to ongoing debt ceiling negotiations in Washington. Accordingly, the Quad Conference to be held in Australia has been cancelled. Instead, it has been announced that the leaders of the Quad will meet and discuss this weekend at the G7 summit in Japan.
