The meeting of the Quad Organization, an alliance of 4 countries – Australia, USA, India and Japan – was to be held in Sydney, Australia next week. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, US President Joe Biden, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishido were present. In this case, this meeting has been canceled suddenly.

Speaking to the press, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, “US President Joe Biden will not be able to participate in this meeting. The Quad conference will not take place without him. Therefore, the meeting is cancelled. On the contrary, the Quad leaders will consult separately between the G7 conference to be held in Japan.” . At the same time, he also said that the bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was to be held in Australia next week, may take place.

US President Joe Biden has abruptly postponed his trip to Australia due to ongoing debt ceiling negotiations in Washington. Accordingly, the Quad Conference to be held in Australia has been cancelled. Instead, it has been announced that the leaders of the Quad will meet and discuss this weekend at the G7 summit in Japan.

India and Australia are not part of the G7 group of seven rich countries comprising the US, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan, however, India and Australia have been invited to attend the summit in Japan.
