Former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi are under investigation in a case of land fraud from applicants for railway jobs. In this case yesterday (10-3-23) the enforcement department raided many places owned by Lalu Prasad Yadav in Delhi and Bihar. Apart from this, raids were also conducted at places belonging to his daughters and former MLAs in Patna, Bhulwari Sharif, Delhi-NCR, Ranchi and Mumbai. Then Rs. 53 lakh in cash, USD 1,900, about 540 grams of gold and 1.5 kg of gold jewellery, the enforcement department said. Along with this, the house of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav has also been raided.

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge has condemned the raid at Tejashwi Yadav’s house. On his Twitter page, he said, “Tejashwi Yadav’s wife and sisters are being harassed in the name of money laundering investigation. Lalu Prasad is old and sick. Yet Modi govt is showing no humanity to him. Modi govt is trying badly to kill democracy by misusing Enforcement Directorate and CBI against opposition leaders. Undertaking”, he posted.
And in that post, “Where did the enforcement department of the Modi government go when they were involved in money fraud worth crores and fled abroad?”

He also mentioned industrialist Gautham Adani and posted, “When the property value of a close friend has skyrocketed, why are investigations not conducted? People will give a befitting response to this dictatorial trend.”
