Kalvethi Murkan depicts various things including two different communities, the caste discrimination between them, the ups and downs in two sections of the same society, the oppressed communities who progress by using the opportunities around them. Stands apart from other conventional village tales. In particular, the need for other communities to stand on the side of the oppressed people, and how selfishness can sacrifice one’s own caste, adds intensity.
