*Vacation, all I ever wanted—*especially if that vacation is being taken by a famous person. Particularly after over a year without international travel, who didn’t fervently click on paparazzi photos of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s canoodling on a yacht, double tap Emily Ratajkowski’s dreamy Instagram posts, or swipe through @deuxmoi’s spotted stories whenever Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian’s couples getaways came up this summer? Not only did these celebrity vacations they provide entertainment value, but wanderlust as well—as we emerged from a long 18 months of shutdowns and border closures, many of us began to fantasize about planning far-flung trips of our own.
But the question is: where, exactly, are these glamorous locales frequented by the genetically blessed? We break down the most fabulous spots visited this summer, below.
Le Sirenuse, Amalfi Coast
Beloved by: Emily Ratajkowski
In the background of Emily Ratajkowsi’s Instagram story this July were the unmistakable firehouse red walls of Positano’s most famous hotel: Le Sirenuse.
The boutique hotel first opened in 1951, when four brothers decided to turn their family summer home into a lavish, intimate getaway. Since then, it’s been enchanting guests with its colorful interiors, mosaic floors, leafy plants, and stunning cliffside views of the town and Tyrrhenian sea. Its Michelin-starred restaurant, La Sponda, is known to be one of the most romantic spots in the region—at night, it’s lit with 400 candles. It’s no surprise that Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi reportedly purposed to Princess Beatrice of York here, or that Reese Witherspoon visited as a newlywed with husband Jim Toth.
Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Côte d’Azur
Beloved by: Bella Hadid
Ever since F. Scott Fitzgerald glamorized the “large, proud, rose-colored” Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Tender Is the Night, famous faces have flocked to the five-star French Riviera resort—especially during the area’s annual Cannes Film Festival and AmFar gala. This year, Bella Hadid and her boyfriend, Marc Kalman, were spotted lounging at their pool in between her statement-making red-carpet appearances.
Las Ventanas al Paraiso, Los Cabos
Beloved by: The Kardashians
The Kardashian family vacations are stuff of lavish lore—don’t forget that the infamous “Kim, there’s people that are dying” moment happened during a trip to Bora Bora. Reportedly, the group’s most recent getaway is Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Los Cabos, a Rosewood Resort. It’s easy to see why, with luxurious yet kid-friendly amenities like an infinity pool overlooking the Sea of Cortez, a lazy river, a tequila and ceviche bar, and a spa with treatments inspired by local healers.
Kourtney, for one, has been posting up a storm of the Mexican getaway, sharing pictures of everything from her margaritas to their movie night on the beach, complete with s’mores.
Rosewood Miramar Beach, Montecito
Beloved by: Kourtney Kardashian, Travis Barker, Chelsea Handler
An hour and a half away from the world capital of celebrity, Los Angeles, Rosewood Miramar Beach has long attracted guests of the rich and famous variety. This summer, Kourtney Kardashian and her new beau stopped by, as did comedian Chelsea Handler for a girl’s trip.
It’s a leisure-pursuit paradise: perched right on the Pacific Ocean, there’s two pools, a beach club with private butlers, a bocce court, and a veranda perfect for sipping afternoon lemonades. And that’s not to mention the shopping: Goop and Webster both have stores on the property.
Six Senses, Ibiza
Beloved by: Alexa Chung
The Six Senses in Ibiza has only been open for a month and a half, but already it’s making a social media splash: perennial cool girl Alexa Chung posted a photo of herself in front of their infinity pool overlooking Xarraca Bay, and then again lounging in one of their yellow Michel Ducaroy Togo chairs.
A completely sustainable resort, Six Senses Ibiza prides itself on its wellness program: its 13,000 square foot spa features a longevity lounge, hammam, steam room, infrared sauna, cold bucket showers, and offers state-of-the-art services like cryotherapy and Normatech compression boots. Then there’s the food: overseen by famed Israeli chef Eyal Shani, menus focuses on local, plant-based ingredients.
