Ramanathapuram: A Madhya Pradesh young woman who has undertaken a 25,000 km bicycle journey across the country to create awareness about women’s safety and empowerment, arrived in Ramanathapuram yesterday.

Asha Malviya (24) hails from Nataram village, Rajgarh district, Madhya Pradesh. A national mountaineer, she holds a M.Sc. To create awareness about women’s safety and women’s empowerment, she has undertaken a cycle tour across the country.

He started his journey in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh on November 1 last year and reached Tamil Nadu as the 7th state via Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala. He reached Ramanathapuram yesterday via Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Virudhunagar. He was received and congratulated by Collector Johny Tom Varghese at the Collector’s office and District SP P. Thangadurai at the SP office.

Then from there he left for Rameswaram. According to Asha Malviya (24), they are wrongly saying that there is no security for women in the country. I am cycling across the country solo to prove that women are safe. I am going to complete the tour in Delhi on August 15, he said.
