“D.Rajender is my biggest inspiration” – AR Rahman on ‘Pathu Thala’ stage

“T.Rajender is my greatest inspiration,” said music director AR Rahman at the music launch of ‘Pathu Thala’.

The music launch of ‘Pathu Thala’, directed by Opili Krishna and starring Simbu, is taking place in Chennai. Speaking on this, music director AR Rahman said, “It was for Simbu that I agreed to work in Duth Thala. Another reason is Ophili Krishna. He has a unique musical passion. Simbu has to sing the song ‘Akkaraiyila’ in the film. He went to Thailand so I sang that song myself. D. Rajender has come to the event.

He is my inspiration. I have worked with Ilayaraja, MSV, KV Mahadevan and many others. But when I worked with D. Rajender, I was an introvert till then and I became an extrovert after seeing his working style. That is the biggest inspiration for me.”

Also, “We have started a fund called ‘Save Lightman Fund’ for lightmen working in cinema. Because they don’t have any financial resources. We are launching a website for them. “I will be happy if Simbu opens it,” said the Lightman Fund website.
