Tuticorin: The four-day Weaving Art Festival in Thoothukudi will begin on the 28th. Kanimozhi MP organized a concert on this occasion at Muthunagar beach in Tuticorin. Minister P. Geethajeevan and others observed.
An 11-day book festival started on the 11th by the district administration and the South Indian Booksellers and Publishers Association (PABASI) to promote reading skills among the people of Thoothukudi district.

Every evening, writers, poets and speakers participate in this book festival, which is held at Thitil, Sankarapperi Exclusion Area, Thoothukudi-Ettayapuram Road, and talks about the importance of reading. Art programs of school and college students are also taking place. The Weaving Art Festival will be held from 28th to 1st May. More than 400 artists will participate in this.
Free bus facility has been arranged from Thoothukudi Old Bus Stand and New Bus Stands to the venue of Book Festival. Kanimozhi MP yesterday evening. From Tuticorin New Bus Station, he left for the book festival by bus. He explained the book festival to the people traveling in the bus and invited them to come to the festival.

He was accompanied by Tamil Nadu Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Minister P. Geethajeevan, Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation Mayor Jagan Periyasamy, District Collector K. Senthil Raj, District Revenue Officer S. Ajay Srinivasan, Corporation Commissioner S. Dinesh Kumar, District Superintendent of Police L. Balaji Saravanan also traveled in the bus. Later they visited the Book Festival.
