Thanjavur: The Thanjavur District Collector allocated funds for the construction of a house for a woman who lost her husband and gave Rs. 75 thousand from his discretionary fund for the expenses of the woman’s family.

Kariyadraj hails from Kumbakonam area of ​​Thanjavur district. His wife Sandhya (43). Their children are Matuparia (13) and Anbu (12). Since Irudayaraj had died a few years ago, she was living on the roadside with her two children without sufficient income and without a house to live in.

In this case, Sandhya, along with her two children, recently met Collector Dineshponraj Oliver and told her about her situation and filed a petition. After receiving the petition, the Collector called the concerned departmental officials and informed about the nature of the petition and consulted about providing government welfare schemes to the woman.

Later, Sandhya was given a house plot to build a house near Kumbakonam Asur and allocated funds for the construction of the house on behalf of the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department.

Also, considering her family situation, Collector Dinesh Ponraj Oliver sent a check of Rs.75 thousand from his discretionary fund and Rs.10 thousand from his own money to Sandhya at the collector’s office the day before yesterday.

Sandhya said that this incident has brought resilience and thanked the Collector for tears.
