Sriharikota: ISRO scientists have said that 36 OneWeb satellites have been placed in orbit as planned.
Last year, ISRO’s NSIL signed an MoU with UK-based OneWeb to launch 72 satellites through GSLV. In the first phase under this commercial-oriented agreement, 36 satellites were successfully launched on October 23 last year by the GSLV Mark-3 rocket.

In the second phase, 36 satellites were launched today (March 26) at 9 am by GSLV Mark-3 rocket from the 2nd launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Research Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The countdown for this started at 8.30 am yesterday.
The total weight of these 36 satellites is 5,805 kg. All these are about 450 km from Earth. are positioned at a distance. These satellites partially separated from the launcher and reached its circular orbit.
