A few months ago, 5G spectrum, the fastest telecom service in India, was auctioned. The leading companies including Jio, Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL Idea, India’s leading cell phone service providers participated in the auction. After the 5G spectrum was awarded to the private telecom companies, those companies are taking necessary steps to provide 5G service to their users across India.
Leading cell phone service providers like Jio Reliance, Airtel and others have stepped up efforts to provide their users with the fastest 5G service free of charge. Jio launched its first phase of 5G services on Diwali. Subsequently, it is actively engaged in efforts to provide 5G services to all the capitals of 33 districts in Gujarat.

All district capitals in Gujarat will become 5G enabled cities within a month’s time, i.e. by the end of 2022. Similarly, Airtel is also gearing up to provide 5G services to its users across India. Airtel and Jio are now providing 5G services in around 50 cities across India.

This 5G service provides the users with the most extensive internet surfing facility. The two leading cell phone service providers launched these efforts on October 1. As of November 26, Telkom Services Providers Organization has reported that 5G services are available in 50 leading cities across India. Accordingly, 5G services are being provided by Jio in Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and 33 district capitals in Gujarat.

Similarly, 5G service is being provided in Delhi, Siliguri, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Chennai, Gurugram, Patna by Airtel, another leading mobile phone service provider in India. Jio and Airtel users do not need to pay any extra to avail 5G services.
Both the companies have announced that their users will be getting super fast 5G service for free, following the 4G service currently being offered. Also, steps are being taken to make 5G services available in all urban and rural areas in India by 2024. Thus, India will soon become the scene where 5G services will be fully available
