Barth Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal has said that the price of internet service and phone calls will be increased this year. He said that the minimum recharge price has already been increased last month and that the price will be increased further.
Airtel CEO Sunil Bharti Mittal said this at the International Mobile Congress. It is said that the recharge price has to be increased as the company’s profits have decreased. And people are using up to 30 GB data free of charge, he said.

It is noteworthy that Airtel has discontinued its minimum recharge plan of Rs.99. And it is expected to change to Rs.300 while the minimum profit is Rs.200 per recharge.
He said that the Government of India is focusing on digital infrastructure and with the help of companies like BSNL and Vodafone Idea, the government is upgrading infrastructure in telecom companies.
Further, to the questions raised about 5G services, he informed that they are working continuously to provide 5G services across the country. He said that around 100 million customers are still using 2G service and therefore there is no stopping of 2G service. He also said that the reports that Paytm is going to buy the company’s shares are not true.
