WhatsApp is developing many new features to improve the user experience. In its turn, messaging apps will soon make it difficult to share your voice note as a status.
Currently, WhatsApp users only share images and videos as status updates. WhatsApp is currently testing the planned feature on the iOS beta version of the app.

You can record and use your voice recordings by pressing the microphone icon that appears below where you can type your comments in the status. This feature is under development and is only available to some users for testing. This facility will be provided to all after completing the test.
The company is working on bringing the calling feature to the WhatsApp desktop version. This allows users without a phone to make calls directly from the desktop app. The Calls tab displays the users call history in the desktop application and all the information about the call in the calling card. However, this feature is also currently under development. Available to beta users only.
