New Delhi: Data of around 3 crore Indian train passengers has been put up for sale on the dark web, it has been revealed. It is said to include the name and phone numbers of passengers.
However, neither the government nor the railways has confirmed this yet. However, it is reported that a hacker has put passenger data up for sale.

A record of this data leak has been shared on the dark web under the name Shadow Hacker. According to that record, it seems that this data was leaked on Dec. 27. Cyber security companies have to confirm this.
Passengers’ travel details and invoices are also said to have been leaked. It is reported that they charge about US$ 400 per copy. In 2019, data of around 9 million people were similarly leaked online. Although various efforts have been made to prevent this, all of them have been thwarted. Individuals should be very careful while sharing their details online and offline. Because hackers are showing their hand in new tactics.
