International Women’s Day– a day dedicated to women. The day is observed to create awareness about the rights of women and the problems they face in society and family environment. It is also necessary.
Nowadays, women are winning in all fields. There is no sector without them. It has become a day to celebrate how far women have come in politics, society and economy. This year’s theme for International Women’s Day, which has been celebrated for over a century, is ‘DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality’.

Also, the aim of this theme is to recognize and celebrate the contribution of women to the ever-expanding technology and online education. With the advancement of globalization in the emerging technological world, the problems faced by women seem to have lessened, but there are still some things that stand in the way of women realizing and expressing their full potential even in the 21st century. To address these, the UN has chosen Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality as its theme for this year.
From the early days of the computer world to virtual reality and artificial intelligence, technology has been growing aggressively, and not only men but also women have contributed innumerable ways to its development. But when it comes to women in the digital world, their achievements are not as historically or appreciatively celebrated.
Today, a persistent gender gap in digital access prevents women from realizing the full potential of technology. Their underrepresentation in STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and professions is also considered a major barrier to their participation in technology design and related management. The pervasive threat of gender-based violence in social circles—often evicting them from the digital spaces they occupy—lacks legal legitimacy.

At the same time, there is no disputing that digital technology is paving many new paths to the global empowerment of women, girls and other marginalized groups.
