LaTeX: All figures in Volume 2, followed by supplementary material

Due to a large number of figures in my thesis, I decided to go for two volumes:

  • V1: ToC, List of tables, List of figures, Text and tables, References
  • V2: List of figures, Figures, List of supplements, Supplementary figures, i.e. captioned “Figure 1.2” and “S1”

To move all figures to the end of my thesis, I use
usepackage[figuresonly,figlist,tablelist,nomarkers]{endfloat}

My ToC is:

cftaddtitleline{toc}{chapter}{Volume 1}{}
input{chapter1}
include{chapter2}
include{chapter3}
addcontentsline{toc}{chapter}{References}
printbibliography
newpage
cftpagenumbersoff{Volume 2}
cftaddtitleline{toc}{chapter}{Volume 2}{}
addcontentsline{toc}{chapter}{Figures}
addcontentsline{toc}{chapter}{Supplementary Material}

I tried:

begin{document}
newcommand{beginsupplement}{%
        setcounter{table}{0}
        renewcommand{thetable}{Sarabic{table}}%
        setcounter{figure}{0}
        renewcommand{thefigure}{Sarabic{figure}}%
     }

%section{Supplementary Material}
beginsupplement

However, with usepackage{endfloat} all figures are pushed to the VERY end so that even the supplement is placed before the figures. Do you know an alternative to the endfloat package to add all figures into my chapter “Figures”, or to add a supplement that is placed after the normal figures?
