Chennai: In Tamil Nadu, a government order has been issued to allocate funds of Rs.
Tamil Nadu Fiber Network Corporation (DanBNET) is implementing the BharatNet Phase 2 project to provide high-speed Internet connectivity to all rural areas in Tamil Nadu. Under this scheme, work is being done in various packages.

In this case, a fund of Rs.184 crore has been allocated for the ‘Bharatnet Last Mile Connectivity’ project. In this regard, the Government of Tamil Nadu has said:
The Central Government has directed the State Governments to submit their proposals for financing under the 5th Section of the Special Funding Scheme for State Capital Investments for the financial year 2022-23. Accordingly, the managing director of DanBnet has requested to allocate Rs.323.42 crore for the ‘Bharat Net Last Mile Connectivity’ project.

Accordingly, the Central Finance Department allocated Rs.184 crore under the scheme. The funds were forwarded to the Tamil Nadu government and it was directed to release the amount to Danbenet within the next 10 days.
Following this, the managing director of DonBnet sent the revaluation project concept to the Tamil Nadu government and requested to provide Rs.184 crore. Also, a report of Rs 184 crore including Rs 73.83 crore of special funding for glass fiber project was given. After considering this, the Tamil Nadu Government approved the disbursement of Rs.184 crores and approved the detailed project report for the same.
