New Delhi: The central government has released a new bill named ‘Digital Personal Information Protection 2022’ to provide security to individual’s information in a digital framework.
In this bill, the central government has proposed to impose a fine of up to Rs 500 crore on companies violating the rules related to information security. The Bill also states that an Information Security Board should be created. Union Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that people can give their comments on this new bill till December 17 and this bill will be tabled in the next session of Parliament.
