Earlier this week, Apple launched the iPhone 14 serial models with the much-awaited advanced technology features at its headquarters in California, USA. In this case, reports suggest that Apple is planning to manufacture iPhone 14 models in India within the next two months.
Apple is said to be making the move in an attempt to change its reliance on China as the world’s leading manufacturer of iPhones. While there are some Indian partner companies including Foxconn, Wistron and Wistron that manufacture various types of iPhones for Apple, India’s major conglomerate Tata Group seems to be planning to manufacture the Apple iPhone in India soon.

In India, Tata Group is the most popular and trusted brand. Tata is a leading manufacturer of automobiles, electric vehicles and software, as well as salt. If Tata starts manufacturing the iPhone in India, the company will position itself as a new force in technology manufacturing. Tata may also be the first Indian company to manufacture an iPhone in India. As the central government is encouraging global companies to manufacture in India and export to other countries, this will not only benefit the company but also India in a big way.
According to the report, Tata wants to tap into Wistron’s expertise in product development, supply chain and assembly. However, the contract details are yet to be finalised. Tata may buy some stake in Wistron’s India operations. Alternatively, Tata may also set up a new assembly plant.
